Cleaning of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Assembled Electronic Boards.

There are many things unknown to most people that we believe are important to know, and that’s why we want to share them with you, hoping to inform (and perhaps even educate) our entire customer base with valuable insights!

You’ll find this brief reading definitely useful!

The importance of cleaning printed circuit boards and/or assembled boards: let’s talk about Ionic Contamination.

Both bare printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assembled boards may contain post-processing residues that are “invisible” or not always visible, which can become hazardous in certain situations.

Indeed, both in the PCB manufacturing process and during assembly, traces of substances (salts) can remain from the processing phases. If present in certain quantities, these can create problems with poor insulation and/or, in particular humidity conditions, lead to the formation of dendrites (whitish residues)
