Our tips for optimizing your electronic assembly

Prime has always specialized in the assembly and testing of electronic boards, with particular focus on medium/small production batches with a high number of different items (up to 240).

Samples and/or rapid prototyping are welcome!

To provide a complete proposal, the following documents are required:

Bill of Materials (BOM) in electronic format (Excel).

The bill of materials must specify:

  • Manufacturer part number
  • description,
  • quantity,
  • component format,
  • components not to be mounted (N.I.).

It is also necessary to specify any components that you will supply (if any).
    Here’s a simple example:

A drawing (called topographic) is needed showing the component view, their orientation, polarity, and any critical issues. A PDF file is acceptable.

If the board is assembled in SMT on both sides, the mounting side of top and bottom components must be specified. Two files can be made, specifying whether the file is for the SS (Solder Side) or CS (Component Side).

To place an order, the following data is required:

  • Gerber files including information for stencil execution for solder paste deposition, with at least two fiducial marks per board; or ODB++ files (open data base).
  • The bill of materials (BOM) with the component placement file (x,y, rotation). If ICT testing with a flying probe system is requested, board CAD files are also needed. For more info on supported CAD files, click here.

Yes, some customers request it and we do it.

If some components are supplied, it’s important to know and follow certain guidelines (link)

For production purposes, it’s important to have a board/panel of appropriate dimensions with suitable rigidity. Therefore, it’s advisable to have panels that don’t exceed certain dimensions. It’s important to consult with our Technical Department.

We have always distinguished ourselves by providing customized services for our clients.

We aim to be a partner; We already have several situations where we ship directly to our clients’ customers, including internationally.

Yes! We can perform conformal coating on your boards with automated systems (acrylic technology). The coating helps eliminate all possible problems due to:

  • humidity
  • saline environments
  • dust
  • particularly harsh environments (tropical environments)
  • dirt that gets into electrical panels
