In order to optimize our relationships and the quality of services provided, we are requesting your cooperation on several important points listed below, which will certainly help us work better.
RAW MATERIAL DELIVERIES:
1. GOODS
The goods must be shipped with both the delivery note and your customer PICKING LIST: this is “essential to understand if the material delivered is” sufficient to complete the order. Whenever possible, ship the goods only when you are “sure you have everything.
If the shipped goods are not sufficient to complete the order (e.g.: the goods are” delayed), this MUST BE HIGHLIGHTED in your customer picking list.
3. PACKAGING
Each batch of boards must be packaged separately from other board batches, so that different batches correspond to separate packages.
If a component is not present because it is included in the packaging of another board, this MUST BE INDICATED.
4. SAMPLE
Each batch, whenever possible, should have its corresponding sample. It is very helpful to start production with a sample approved by you.
5. PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS (PCB)
Whenever possible, for each batch we should receive panels with homogeneous figures (with the same quantity of PCBs) e.g.: in a batch of 100 panels, each containing 9 figures, we cannot assemble 98 panels with 9 figures and 1 panel with 6 figures and perhaps 3 single PCBs: in this last case, additional costs must be considered for multiple machine setups (Screen Printing phase and P phase).
Since PCBs are perishable products and sensitive to oxidation when exposed to air, we suggest providing PCBs vacuum-sealed with humidity indicators and desiccants inside. It’s advisable to avoid leaving open quantities with loose PCBs exposed to air.
6. ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS PROVIDED BY THE CUSTOMER
During SMT assembly line setups (loading components into machines), we pay extreme attention to handling your components. However, it should be considered that to align the first component of the tape to the feeder, there are certainly potential component losses. This is why additional components are often requested to avoid production stops/delays. Each assembler has different and multiple requirements;
Prime requires the following:
- Passive components in tape format from 0603 and larger (0805, 1206…). An additional 2% should be considered for board production. For prototyping, it’s advisable to consider at least 10% more. It’s crucial in these cases that a SINGLE STRIP OF COMPONENTS is provided (for example, if 200 capacitors are needed, we must have a single piece of tape with 200 and NOT 10 pieces of tape with 20).
- For passive components in tape format from 0402 and 0201 the component percentage should be increased to 5% more for production and 10% for prototyping.
- Regarding integrated circuits, the same issue exists; since these are a bit larger, we always try to pay extra attention. Sometimes, however, the machine may drop some components; Therefore, it’s essential to have some extra components in this case as well. To help us, we ask you to highlight in your bill of materials all components valued over 2 euros so that our operators can dedicate additional and special attention to these types of components. We will make sure to return all unused components to you upon completion of the work.
- We also recommend managing all static-sensitive devices in antistatic packaging.
